Novell names Grover Righter Director of NetWare Development

PROVO, UTAH - 4 JUNE 1990 – Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ: NOVL), provider of NetWare, the most popular business networking solution in the world, announced today that is has appointed Grover P. Righter as Director of the NetWare Engineering and Development Group in Provo, Utah. He will report to Richard King, Vice President of the NetWare Products Group. In his capacity as Director of NetWare Development, Righter will be responsible for product plans, development and delivery of the award winning NetWare software product family.

Prior to his current position, Righter was Director of the Hybrid Systems Group at Novell, where his team developed the NetWare for UNIX product (formerly Portable NetWare). This product line was been taken under license by NCR, Prime Computing, IBM, DEC, HP and many other leading UNIX platform providers.

Grover Righter was a founding member of the POSIX standards group, IEEE 1003, which established a codex for UNIX system behavior. He was the founder and CTO of RMS, Inc., an innovator of uni-directional satellite communications systems and software. In addition, Righter worked as a Standards Consultant for both AT&T and Unisys. Righter has degrees in Mathematics, Classics and EE/CS. He served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy and was attached to the US Marine Corps.
