SCO names Grover Righter VP of Strategic and Corporate Marketing


Santa Cruz, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 29, 1995--The Santa Cruz Operation (Nasdaq/National Market System Symbol: SCOC), the provider of SCO UNIX and XENIX operating systems and application software for the x86 platform, today named Grover Righter to the position of Vice President of Strategic and Corporate Marketing. Reporting directly to Alok Mohan, President and CEO of SCO, Righter will be responsible for developing market strategies, evangelizing SCO's products and technologies in addition to investor relations.

Prior to his current position, Righter was Vice President of Marketing for SCO Americas business unit. He has also held the position of Vice President of Product Management at The Santa Cruz Operation, where he was instrumental in the launch of the SCO OpenServer™ product line.

Before joining SCO, Righter served as Novell's Vice President of UNIX Products where he established product and market strategy for Novell's entry into the UNIX-packaged product market. He also held the positions of Director of NetWare Products Group and Director of Hybrid Systems. In addition, Righter worked as a Standards Consultant for both AT&T and Unisys. Righter has degrees in Maths, Classics and EE/CS. He served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy and was attached to the US Marine Corps.
