SAN FRANCISCO, CA - 3 NOVEMBER 1997 Softway Systems, Inc., developer of INTERIX, a UNIX environment on Microsoft Windows NT, announced today that is has appointed Grover P. Righter as vice president of marketing and business development. Mr. Righter will be responsible for all marketing strategy and programs at the privately held software company.
"Grover has many years of experience in the UNIX marketplace," said Doug Miller, president and CEO of Softway Systems. "He joins Softway Systems as we grow the core market for migrating legacy applications developed on UNIX to the WIndows NT platform. Over the next year, Grover will be executing a series of marketing inititatives with our major partners to expand our base of POSIX compliant systems into the general marketplace."
Grover Righter has held executive positions in marketing and product development at Novell, AT&T, Geoworks and SCO. He has significant experience in financial services, telecommunications, government and security-centric solutions. His development teams designed the secure enterprise object directory at Novell and he headed the Java server technologies initiative at Geoworks, resulting in major sales to global telecom system providers. Grover was a founding member of the POSIX standards group, IEEE 1003, which established a codex for UNIX system behavior.
