Kabira Technologies appoints New Management Team to keep pace with its rapid Telecommunications-IT-Internet Integration Growth

San Francisco, CA - April 6 1999- Kabira™ Technologies, Inc., (formerly ObjectSwitch™ Corporation) the provider of ObjectSwitch scalable infrastructure software for e-Business, announced today several key additions and changes to its senior management team. The new team will focus on managing and expanding the marketplace for ObjectSwitch's integration of Telecommunications networks, IT networks and Internet services. Prominent among the recent appointments are Dan Sifter Vice President of Engineering, Dirk Epperson Vice President of Product Strategy and Grover P. Righter Vice President of Marketing. With the new staff in place, and significant new financial backing, ObjectSwitch Corporation is poised to launch new products to meet market demand and to expand its customer support operations in Europe and the Americas.

Paul Sutton
President and Chief Executive Officer
Paul Sutton has over twenty years of experience in software and technology and experience in sales, marketing, technical and general management. Before joining ObjectSwitch, Sutton was vice president of sales and marketing at Intellicorp, a business modeling software company. Previously he held positions as vice president of sales at Softlab, a CASE software company, and as managing director of Boole & Babbage, a system management software company.

Frédéric Ariès
Vice President, Europe Middle-East Africa (EMEA)
Frédéric joined SUN Microsystems, France in 1985. During the subsequent 10 years, he held various executive management positions including Sales Director for France and Marketing Director for Southern Europe. Ariès then spearheaded the Southern Europe subsidiary of Illustra Information Technologies, the first company to market object-relational databases. In 1997, he started ObjectSwitch's Southern Europe Operations and he is now responsible for all operations in EMEA.

Grover Righter
Vice President of Marketing and Technical Strategy
Grover Righter has over twenty years of experience in computing and high technology. Mr. Righter has held vice president positions in marketing and product development at Novell, Geoworks, AT&T, The Santa Cruz Operation, Softway Systems and RMS, where he was CTO and Founder. He has been a member of the IEEE for twenty years and has contributed to multiple international software standardization projects including POSIX, Open Groups' XPG and IEEE 802.

John Donnelly III
Vice President, Americas
John Donnelly brings a wealth of industry experience in telecommunications and finance to ObjectSwitch. Donnelly is responsible for sales and professional services in North, Central and South America. Prior to joining ObjectSwitch, Donnelly was Vice President and General Manager of Sales at Synon, Inc. He has held senior management positions at Automation Intelligence (where he was a co-founder), Intellicorp, ParcPlace - Digitalk and Bachman Information Systems, Inc.

Dirk Epperson
Vice President of Product Strategy
Before co-founding ObjectSwitch in 1996, Dirk Epperson was director and architect for Sybase's successful Intermedia Server project to deliver video on demand to major telecommunications customers across the globe. Before joining Sybase, Epperson was vice president of software development at Hill Arts & Entertainment, Inc., where he developed industry-leading billing and ticketing systems. Epperson was a vice president and founder of Performing Arts Technology, Inc., which developed and supplied client/server sales and marketing information systems to theaters and management organizations. He holds a Bachelor's degree in physics from Harvey Mudd College and a Master's degree in engineering from Yale University.

Daniel J. Sifter
Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technical Officer
Dan Sifter has over fifteen years of experience in networks, protocols and open system computing for telecommunications and other industries. Before co-founding ObjectSwitch in 1996, Sifter was chief architect for Sybase's connectivity products group, where he designed innovative extensions to Sybase's Open Client and Open Server products. Before joining Sybase, he worked for Control Data Corporation as architect for messaging technologies. Sifter holds a BSEE in computer science from University of California at Davis.

Greg Straughn
Vice President Finance and Operations
Greg Straughn has an extensive background in the financial management of technology and Internet related businesses and has recently been consulting on consolidation within the Internet service business. Previously he was CFO of Pacific Bell Internet Services where he developed the original business plan and managed the implementation and operations of the accounting, finance and human resource systems.
